Legal Disclaimer & Non-Affiliation Statement
This application and website are developed as an independent third-party software utility by JimooTech / JaviTech. The application is NOT an official product of any television manufacturer, streaming-device maker or TV operating-system vendor, and it is neither affiliated with, sponsored by, authorized by, certified by, nor endorsed by any of them.
Non-Affiliation Statement: This application is an independent, third-party software utility. It is NOT an official application of, and is NOT affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored, authorized, certified, or otherwise supported by any smart TV manufacturer, streaming-device maker, streaming platform or TV operating-system vendor. It communicates with compatible devices solely through the local-network control interface those devices expose on your own home network.
Trademarks: Any brand, product or platform names that appear in the application, its documentation or its store listing are trademarks of their respective owners. App names and icons shown on the App's Apps screen come from your own TV. Other names and trademarks belong to their owners, and nothing in the App implies any business relationship, sponsorship or endorsement.
Original UI & Visual Design: All software architecture, user-interface layouts, directional-pad (D-pad) controls, remote-button artwork and the App icon are original designs created independently. No proprietary hardware design, physical controller trade dress or copyrighted asset of any device manufacturer has been replicated. Channel logos shown in the App's channel lists are displayed as provided by your TV or by the streaming platform's public image servers, solely to identify channels you can launch; they belong to their respective owners and are not our artwork.
This Privacy Policy is issued by JaviTech (Javidan Salarian), the developer named on Google Play, operating the JimooTech website. It explains how the Android app Remote for Smart TV (shown on your phone as "Remote"; the "App") and this website collect, use, keep and disclose information about you (each, a "User"). Our other apps are covered by their own privacy policies, linked in the footer.
Information Collection and Use
The App does not require an account and never asks for your name, address or payment details. We receive personally identifiable information only when you voluntarily provide it, for example your email address when you contact support. The core remote-control feature operates locally on your home network to communicate with your TV or streaming device and does not store personal media or keystrokes on external servers. We operate no server of our own.
The App includes third-party software development kits (SDKs) that collect technical, diagnostic and advertising data to deliver ads, measure performance and keep the App stable. These SDKs and their privacy policies are:
- Google Play Services, including Google Play Billing (the "Remove Ads" purchase) and the Google Play in-app review prompt
- Google AdMob and its one mediated advertising partner, Meta Audience Network
- Firebase: Google Analytics for Firebase (usage events) and Firebase Crashlytics (crash reports). The Firebase Remote Config library is bundled with the App but not used.
- Google User Messaging Platform (the consent and privacy-choices form shown where the law requires it)
Other servers the App contacts. Each time the App starts it downloads a small configuration file (feature switches, ad settings and an optional in-app notice) from a file we host on GitHub. The App's channel screens load channel logos from the streaming platform's public image servers and from your TV. These servers receive your IP address and standard connection data as part of the request; no information about you is sent with it. Some logo requests are made over plain HTTP, so your IP address and the logo address are visible to your network provider.
This website. The home page of jimootech.com uses Google Analytics (through Firebase) to count visits, which sets its own cookies in your browser; this does not change anything this policy says about the App. Cloudflare, which delivers the page, may set a strictly necessary security cookie and injects a small script that protects the email addresses on this page. The page is delivered through Cloudflare and loads its typeface from Google Fonts; those providers receive your IP address and browser information in order to serve the page, under their own privacy policies.
Local Network, Sending Media to Your TV and Permissions
- Device discovery and control: the App searches your Wi-Fi network for compatible TVs and streaming devices using standard multicast (SSDP) and mDNS discovery requests and sends remote-control commands to the device you choose through that device's own local control interface, which stays inside your home network: control of the classic TV (one that needs no pairing code) uses plain HTTP, while TVs that pair with a code use an encrypted (TLS) link whose keys stay on your phone. The App keeps a record of the TV you last connected to, exactly as the TV reports it (local IP address, friendly name, manufacturer, model and model number, serial number and UPnP device identifier), in its private storage on your phone so it can reconnect. The list of channels installed on your TV is read from the TV when you open the channel screen and shown on your phone. None of this is sent to us.
- Send text: text you type with the App's keyboard (which may include searches or passwords for apps on your TV) is sent to your TV over the same local connection (plain HTTP for the classic TV, the encrypted link for TVs that pair with a code); it is not stored by the App or sent anywhere else.
- Photos and videos: you choose them with the Android system photo picker (or the system file picker on phones without it), so the App receives access only to the items you select; it does not browse your photo library. To let your TV play an item, the App runs a small web server on your phone from the moment you pick an item until you tap Stop on the playback screen or close the App, and streams the file over your local network. That server does not verify which device is asking, so another device on the same Wi-Fi network could technically retrieve the file while the server is running; use a password-protected home network and tap Stop when you are done. Nothing is uploaded to us or to any third party.
- Music: to list and send music to your TV, the App reads the audio files stored on your phone (Android permission
READ_MEDIA_AUDIO, or storage access on Android 12 and earlier). Files are streamed to your TV in the same way as photos and videos and are never uploaded. - Listening through headphones: when enabled, audio from your TV is streamed to your phone over your local network (unencrypted, as the TV sends it) and played through your headphones. While it is on, the App runs as a foreground service and keeps your phone awake so the audio continues with the screen off; it keeps running until you turn it off from the App's menu or from its notification, even if you leave the App or the TV goes offline. On Android 13 and later that notification is only visible if you have allowed notifications for the App in Android settings; otherwise stop headphone listening from the App's menu. Nothing is recorded, and this feature does not use your microphone.
- Phone display settings: this menu item only opens your phone's built-in wireless display settings. The App itself never captures or transmits your screen.
- Infrared: on phones with an IR blaster the App can send infrared commands (permission
TRANSMIT_IR). When you switch to infrared mode the App records one analytics event (Google Analytics for Firebase) containing your phone's model and manufacturer and whether it has an IR blaster. No infrared commands or other data are collected. - Permissions summary: the network permissions (Internet, network state, Wi-Fi state, Wi-Fi multicast) are used to find your TV on the local network, to read your phone's own local address so it can stream media and audio, and to load ads, analytics and the configuration file. The foreground-service and wake-lock permissions keep headphone listening running while the screen is off. Vibration is used for optional haptic feedback. The Billing permission enables the Remove Ads purchase. The microphone permission (
RECORD_AUDIO) is requested the first time you tap Voice and is used only for voice search, described below. The App does not request location, camera, contacts or phone permissions.
Voice Search
Applies to app version 1.3.3 and later. Earlier versions do not use the microphone, do not pair with a code and keep no pairing keys.
The App uses the microphone only after you tap Voice on the remote screen, and only while the voice panel is open. Your voice is streamed from your phone to your own TV over your home network; the TV runs the search with its own voice service. The App does not record, store or send your voice anywhere else, and the developer never receives it. You can revoke the microphone permission at any time in your phone's settings; the rest of the remote keeps working.
Pairing Data
Applies to app version 1.3.3 and later. Earlier versions do not use the microphone, do not pair with a code and keep no pairing keys.
When you pair a TV, the App keeps the pairing keys and certificates the TV issued on your phone only. They are excluded from cloud backup and device transfer. The TV may list your phone by its model name, or the pairing name you choose, among its connected devices.
Finding TVs
Applies to app version 1.3.3 and later. Earlier versions do not use the microphone, do not pair with a code and keep no pairing keys.
To list the TVs and streaming players on your home network the App sends standard multicast and mDNS discovery requests on that network and reads the names, models and addresses those devices answer with. This information stays on your phone.
Personal Identification Information
We collect personal identification information from Users only if voluntarily submitted (for instance, when contacting developer support). The App's "Report a Problem" item opens your own email app with a template that asks for your TV model and phone model; you can remove anything you do not want to send, and nothing is sent until you press send in your email app. Users can refuse to supply personal data or request immediate deletion of their communications at any time by emailing us at [email protected].
Pseudonymous Technical Information
Through Google Analytics for Firebase the App collects pseudonymous technical data whenever you use it: device model and manufacturer, operating-system version, app version, language and region, the country and city derived from your IP address, app-open and screen-view events, whether your phone has an infrared blaster (recorded when you switch to infrared mode), and the error text returned when a command to your TV fails (which may include your TV's local IP address). Firebase Crashlytics collects crash reports with device state at the time of the crash. These records are linked to a random app-instance identifier and, for advertising measurement, to your Advertising ID; they are not linked to your name or email address and we cannot identify you from them, although they count as personal data under some privacy laws.
Advertising & Analytics Data
When ads are displayed in the App, third-party advertising networks (Google AdMob and its one mediated partner, Meta Audience Network) may process your device's Advertising ID, IP address and approximate location derived from it to prevent ad fraud, enforce frequency capping, measure ad performance and deliver relevant ads. Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics process app-instance identifiers, device and app information and crash reports so that we can measure stability and usage in aggregate; Google Analytics for Firebase may also use your Advertising ID for advertising measurement. If a Facebook or Instagram app is installed and signed in on your phone, Meta may link the ads shown in the App to that account, under Meta's privacy policy linked above.
Where the law requires it (the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), the App shows a consent form (Google User Messaging Platform) when it starts, and Google's ad SDK applies the choice you record there to the ads it serves; on the very first start an ad may be requested before you have answered. Users in US states with privacy laws can opt out of personalised ads through the in-app notice where it is shown, or by resetting their Advertising ID. You can change your choice at any time from the App's side menu under Privacy Settings → Ad Preferences (Settings); this entry appears when a consent form applies to your region and ads are enabled. The consent form controls advertising only; analytics and crash reporting have no in-app switch. Ads can be removed entirely with the "Remove ADS" purchase described below.
How to limit interest-based advertising on your phone:
- AndroidOpen Settings → Privacy → Ads (on some phones Settings → Google → Ads) and choose "Delete advertising ID" or "Reset advertising ID", and turn off ad personalisation where offered.
In-App Purchases
The App offers an optional one-time "Remove ADS" purchase (side menu → Go Premium → Remove ADS; "Remove Ads" below) processed by Google Play Billing. Google handles the payment and we never see your card or bank details. The App only receives a purchase confirmation from Google Play, which it stores on your phone; we have no server and receive nothing. Purchases are restored automatically when you open the App on any device signed in to the same Google account. The purchase is tied to the Google account that bought it and cannot be transferred to another account; "for life" means for as long as the App is available on Google Play. To request a refund, use Google Play's order history (play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory) under Google Play's refund policy; we cannot see your order or issue refunds ourselves. Remove Ads removes advertising only: Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics continue to run, and because no ads are requested, ad-free users are not shown the consent form. If Google Play refunds or revokes the purchase, ads (and the consent form where it applies) return the next time the App starts.
Summary for the Google Play Data safety section
- Collected (sent to Google, which processes it for us): app activity (app opens, screens viewed, infrared-mode selection); app info and performance (crash logs, the error text when a TV command fails); device or other identifiers (Firebase app-instance ID; the Advertising ID for advertising measurement); approximate location derived from your IP address (country and city), used by Google Analytics for Firebase; purchase status (whether Remove Ads was bought) for app functionality.
- Shared with advertising partners (Google AdMob and Meta Audience Network) through their SDKs: Advertising ID, IP address and the approximate location derived from it, and ad-interaction data, for advertising and fraud prevention.
- Collected by us only if you send it: your email address and the contents of your message when you contact support.
- Audio (voice search): collected only to send to your own TV during voice search; never stored, and never shared with the developer.
- Not collected: name, precise location, contacts, photos or media content, messages, files, health or financial information. Media you send to your TV stays on your phone and your local network.
- Optional or required: advertising and analytics collection happens automatically while you use the free version; buying Remove Ads stops the advertising part. Support contact is optional.
- In transit: data sent to Google and Meta travels over HTTPS. Traffic between your phone and your TV stays inside your Wi-Fi network: control of the classic TV uses plain HTTP, while TVs that pair with a code use an encrypted (TLS) link whose keys stay on your phone.
- Deletion: see "Your data rights & erasure" below.
- Not enrolled in Google Play's Designed for Families programme.
How We Use Collected Information
- Customer Support: to troubleshoot Wi-Fi connection issues and answer technical questions you send us.
- Performance Improvements: to fix network-discovery exceptions, optimise sending media to your TV and ensure stability across Android OS versions, using the pseudonymous analytics and crash data described above.
- Advertising and purchases: to display ads that fund the free version of the App and to honour the "Remove Ads" purchase.
- In-app notices: to show you a message inside the App (for example about a new version or a replacement app) using the configuration file the App downloads at launch; no personal data is used for this.
Data Retention
Crash reports are kept by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days. Analytics events are kept by Google Analytics for Firebase for the retention period set in our Google Analytics property (2 months by default, at most 14 months) and then deleted or aggregated. Advertising data is retained by Google AdMob and Meta Audience Network under their own policies linked above. Support emails you send us are kept for as long as needed to resolve your request and no longer than two (2) years, and are deleted earlier on request. Settings stored on your phone stay there until you clear the App's data or uninstall it (see "Your data rights & erasure" for backups).
Data Protection and Security
Settings and the record of your TV are stored in the App's private storage, which Android isolates from other apps, and may be included in your Android device backup if backup is turned on; pairing keys and certificates are always excluded from backups (see "Pairing data"). Data sent to Google and Meta travels over HTTPS. Communication with your TV stays within your Wi-Fi network: control of the classic TV uses plain HTTP, while TVs that pair with a code use an encrypted (TLS) link whose keys stay on your phone; sending media and listening through headphones are not encrypted. We recommend using a password-protected network. No method of electronic storage or wireless transmission is 100% secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Children's Privacy
The App is intended for adults and teenagers who control a TV. It is not designed for or directed to children under 13, is not enrolled in Google Play's Designed for Families programme, and advertising is not configured for child-directed treatment. The channel categories in the App's channel lists (including "Kids") only list channels that exist on your TV platform; they are not content we offer to children. In the EEA and UK, if you are below the age at which you can consent to data processing yourself (13 to 16 depending on your country), please use the App only with a parent's or guardian's permission. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has emailed us, contact us and we will delete the email promptly; because we cannot access advertising or analytics data held by Google or Meta, also reset the Advertising ID on the child's phone (Settings → Privacy → Ads) and uninstall the App.
Third-Party Links
Our apps and website may contain links to external sites or services. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third-party websites or hardware platforms. This includes advertisements, which are served by the ad networks named above and lead to the advertiser's own site or app, and the button in any in-app notice, which opens the address set in our configuration file (normally our Google Play page).
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy and our legal notices from time to time. The effective date and version number at the top and bottom of this page identify the current version; please review this page periodically. Version 2 (effective 13 October 2026) replaces the policy first published in 2022 at an earlier address on this site, which now points here. Version 2.3 (effective 17 October 2026) adds the "Voice search", "Pairing data" and "Finding TVs" sections for App version 1.3.0 and updates the permissions and Data safety summaries to match.
Your Data Rights & Erasure
Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland): personalised advertising is based on your consent, which you give or refuse in the consent form and can withdraw at any time from the App's menu (Privacy Settings → Ad Preferences (Settings)); crash reporting, aggregate analytics and non-personalised ads are based on our legitimate interest in keeping the App stable and funding its free version (where your law requires consent for the use of your Advertising ID in analytics, you can withhold it by deleting or resetting the Advertising ID in Android settings, after which Google Analytics receives none); the Remove Ads purchase is processed to perform our contract with you; support requests are handled on the basis of your request. You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability where it applies, and to lodge a complaint with your national data-protection authority. Data processed by Google and Meta, the configuration file served by GitHub, the channel-logo image servers, and the Cloudflare and Google Fonts services used by this website are operated from the United States and other countries; transfers rely on the safeguards described in those providers' policies linked above.
California and other US states: we do not sell personal information for money. The use of your Advertising ID by ad networks for personalised advertising may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising under California law; you can opt out through the in-app privacy notice where it is shown, by buying Remove Ads, or by deleting or resetting your Advertising ID in Android settings. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16, and we do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by California law. California residents also have the right to know, correct and delete the personal information we hold, exercised by email as described below. We do not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Deletion: uninstalling the App removes its settings and TV record from your phone; a copy may remain in your Google device backup until that backup is overwritten or deleted (Android Settings → Google → Backup). Analytics and crash records are not linked to anything we could use to find yours, so we cannot delete them individually; they expire automatically on the schedule above. To stop further collection, uninstall the App; deleting or resetting your Advertising ID disconnects previously collected advertising data from your device. Support emails are deleted on request. Contact us at [email protected] to exercise any of these rights; we answer within 30 days.
Terms of Use
The App is licensed, not sold, to you for personal, non-commercial use on Android devices you own or control, subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. You must not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell or misuse the App, or use it to interfere with devices you are not authorised to control. The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind; compatibility with a particular TV model, firmware version or network cannot be guaranteed. To the fullest extent permitted by law, JaviTech is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damage arising from use of or inability to use the App. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under the laws of your country. We may update the App or discontinue features at any time.
